To establish further sensors from the HallinOne® family, LZE GmbH is strengthening its semiconductor sales network in cooperation with Karl Kruse GmbH & Co. KG. For Karl Kruse, this marks its entry into the magnetic field sensor segment.
As a fabless semiconductor manufacturer, LZE GmbH has successfully established Fraunhofer IIS’s patented HallinOne® technology in the market in recent years – including with the FH3D02 dual 3D magnetic field sensor and other standard components. Now the HallinOne® family is gaining an innovative addition:
FH3D04 – Quad 3D Hall Sensor for 6D-Measurement
True 6D position measurement – three translations and three rotations – typically requires complex sensor arrays with elaborate synchronization and calibration. The Fraunhofer IIS FH3D04 integrates four 3D Hall sensors in a 1.5 mm grid onto a single 2.5 x 2.5 x 0.6 mm chip, enabling a measurement rate of up to 80 kHz and thus opening up practical 6D position measurement for joysticks, gimbals, and precise magnetic field mapping for the first time.
A key requirement that can be implemented with minimal effort is independence from external fields: An integrated coil enables the sensor modules to be self-diagnostic. And this applies not only to single-axis but also to multi-axis sensors. Even SIL requirements are possible.
