Modular Devices, Inc. is excited to introduce to you our newest product release – the 3845 Booster, featuring high efficiency and short circuit protection. Model 3845 is a modern GaN design specifically designed for cube sat, commercial space and traditional space applications.

The 3845 is a Rad Hard non-isolated Booster with a 9 VDC to 20 VDC input and a 28 VDC output with 120W capability. Model 3845 is a modern GaN design specifically designed for cube sat, commercial space and traditional Space applications. It features high efficiency and short circuit protection. 3845 is packaged in a 2.61” by 2.71” flanged case.Unlike simple DC-DC boosters which allow unlimited current when the output voltage is less than the input voltage, Model 3845 contains an internal FET that opens the input/output connection when the output voltage is less than the input voltage. This feature not only provides short circuit protection but also allows the output to be inhibited when commanded.Two modes of voltage regulation are provided. The first mode is the conventional precise regulation, and is selected by the user by connecting 28 VDC to the load return to pin 12.The second mode is a precision droop regulation, which allows paralleling two or more booster units for higher power. The droop is approximately 2 VDC from no load to full load. Droop regulation is selected by the user by connecting the 28 VDC load return to pin 11.

Advanced GNSS Antenna For High Precision And Autonomous Multi-Frequency Applications Featuring L5 GPS

Maxtena is launching a new product M8HCT-A-SMA.

The M8HCT-A-SMA is the world’s most advanced patented GNSS antenna. Designed for autonomous multi-frequency and high precision applications. The rugged active quadrifilar helix antenna is manufactured using automotive grade electronics for GIS, RTK and other GNSS applications.

The revolutionary design will offer simultaneous GNSS reception on L1: GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou, L2: GPS L2C, Galileo E5B, and GLONASS L3OC, and L5: GPS in a rugged, compact, and ultra lightweight form factor. The antenna is a perfect match for GIS, RTK and other high accuracy GNSS applications. Where high performance and low weight are driving features in antenna selection, the M8HCT-A-SMA is a great fit for automotive and drone markets.

The M8HCT-A-SMA active helix design features Maxtena’s patented compact and lightweight Helicore® technology. In a very compact form factor, this technology provides exceptional pattern control, polarization purity and high efficiency. The antenna offers up to 30dB gain for GNSS applications that utilize GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou, in one radome housing with a single SMA connector.

The antenna weighs only 25 grams and is housed in automotive grade PCB plastic with automotive grade electronics and is rated IP67 when mounted. It is ground plane independent and offers extremely low power consumption and minimal phase center variation over azimuth. The antenna offers superb axial ratio ensuring multipath error is mitigated.

Automotive electronics applications are subject to one of the harshest environments – large temperature fluctuations, shocks and vibrations, and the effects of moisture, water and salt. Traditionally, wing-type automotive fuses located under the dashboard in a fuse box provided the necessary protection against error. But as cars become “smart” and “connected”, more and more embedded and distributed electronics require circuit board protection. And with the rapid advent of electric (EV) and hybrid electric (HEV) vehicles – mostly high-energy lithium battery systems – the demand for reliable circuit protection devices to guard against catastrophic failures is critical. These applications have focused on improving surface-mount security technology.

AEM Components recently introduced the new AEC-Q200 qualified SMD fuses specifically designed for use in vehicles. The new AirMatrix (QA series) and SolidMatrix (QF series) fuses offer high mechanical and thermal stability from -55 ° C to 150 ° C.

Fulfillment of automotive standards

Automotive technicians must qualify their equipment for the AEC-Q200 automotive standard. The Professional Association of Component Distribution (FBDi) now offers its members the ‘Authorized Source’ seal of approval.

Customers can rest assured that association members who have been awarded the seal of approval only place goods on the market from authorized and reliable sources, i.e. from manufacturers and their contracted distributors. The prerequisite for gaining the seal of approval is FBDi membership and status as a franchised distributor of the product manufacturer.
The FBDi ‘Authorized Source’ seal of approval ensures that the relevant association member only supplies original goods to the market from a licensed manufacturer or goods purchased from a franchised distributor of the respective manufacturer. In the event of goods having to be purchased from other sources, the association member assures that the respective source is reliable, the origin of the goods has been verified and the customer has been informed accordingly.
The aim of the seal of approval is to enhance protection against counterfeit and fake products an to reduce the number of potential claims and complaints in advance.
